Bronze Duke of Edinburgh

Bronze Duke of Edinburgh

Saturday  15th October saw 10 cadets set off on a Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition around Willingale and the surrounding Essex countryside.  After a final full check of their kit they were dropped at the two churches in Willingale where they set off to navigate around the pre-planned route.  For some it was their qualifying expedition which would require a project  Aim which they chose to be finding out about the churches on their route.

Whilst the weather remained fair and dry throughout the two day expedition, the temperatures dropped significantly during the night to produce tents covered in a decent frost on Sunday morning.  Some slept better than others, however, all survived the night and set about cooking a hearty breakfast before setting off for the second days walking.

All finished the weekend with memories they will keep for many years, and some with blisters that they would prefer not to last quite so long!
