Fieldcraft Training Day

Fieldcraft Training Day

On Saturday the 5th of February 9 cadets from 1483 (Brentwood) Squadron went to ACP 16 (Fieldcraft) Training Day , on which cadets participated in a number of practical activities that helped Cadets gain a good knowledge of ACP 16. ACP 16 is an Air Cadet Publication which is designed to teach cadets about Fieldcraft. Fieldcraft teaches cadets the basic military skills required to operate stealthily.

The Day also included stealth tactics, first aid training and a special activity where cadets set a roadside checkpoint and searched a vehicle. Lunch was provided in the form of an MOD ration pack, boil-in-the-bag lamb curry, boil-in-the-bag chocolate sponge, and much more. Not Michelin star quality but filling and quite edible if you close your eyes. Second Class Cadet Ball said, "I enjoyed the day lots, there were many different activities, all of which I enjoyed, especially the First Aid."

3 staff members also attended the day and the activity was headed by Flying Officer Lindup.  CI Head T who also attended commented on the day "Yes I enjoyed it very much, apart from being very instructional, it was also enjoyable, and the weather was also good!"
