Remembrance Sunday

On the 14th of November, 48 cadets from 1483 (Brentwood) Squadron were in attendance for the annual Remembrance Day Parade. The parade started at 1030 hours in the Brentwood Town Hall car park, members of all services, in both the cadet and armed forces, marched together to the War Memorial on Shenfield Road. Three cadets from Brentwood Squadron, Cpl Botwright, Sgt Harding, and Cpl Jones, stood guard at the memorial during the service.

Next followed the church service at St Thomas’ Church which included a speech from the mayor of Brentwood and a recital of “In Flanders Fields” by Cdt Eager, of our very own Brentwood Squadron and during the service banners from all over Brentwood were placed by Cpl Jacobs also from Brentwood Squadron.

The church service was followed by a march past the mayor on the Ingrave road and after the parade the Brentwood cadets were kindly invited by the mayor for tea and coffee in the Town Hall. The day was a poignant occasion that paid respect to the many men and women who have served and lost their lives carrying out their duty.
